Stuff, and more stuff.

Release date of this awesome book is May 3rd in the states (sadly). I'll have to wait at least six to eight weeks for the book to arrive in Malaysia. You can go here to read the first chapter:

I swear to god that I will NOT peek at the synopsis on the Wiki page when this book comes out! No! I will not spoil it for myself like how I did with The Lost Hero!!!!! Gah!!!

Moving on, below is a list of books I'm anticipating for this year, even though it's only a bit. (Note, all release dates stated are just for the US, it'll take eons for the book just to reach Malaysia.)

  • Where She Went by Gayle Forman (Release date: April 5, sequel to If I Stay)
  • The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan (Release date: May 3, book 2 of The Zane Chronicles)
  • What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen (Release date: May 10)
  • The Surprise of Suzumiya Haruhi by Tanigawa Nagaru (Release date: May 25, book 10 of the Suzumiya Haruhi series)
  • The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan (Release date: September, book 2 of The Heroes of Olympus)

And that's pretty much all. Maybe the list might grow as the days pass, who knows?

Now back to that shitload of homework.

for the first time

she's all laid up in bed with a broken heart
while I'm drinking jack all alone in my local bar
and we don't know how
how we got into this mad situation
only doing things out of frustration
trying to make it work but man these times are hard

she needs me now but I can't seem to find the time
I've got a new job now on the unemployment line
and we don't know how
how we got into this mess is this a god's test?
someone help us cause we're doing our best
trying to make it work but man these times are hard

but we're gonna start by
drinking old cheap bottles of wine
sit talking up all night
saying things we haven't for a while
a while yeah
we're smiling but we're close to tears
even after all these years
we just now got the feeling that we're meeting

for the first time

she's in line at the door
with her head held high
while I just lost my job
but didn't lose my pride
and we both know how
how we're gonna make it work when it hurts,
when you pick yourself up
you get kicked to the dirt
trying to make it work but man these times are hard

but we're gonna start by
drinking old cheap bottles of wine
sit talking up all night
doing things we haven't for a while
a while yeah
we're smiling but we're close to tears
even after all these years
we just now got the feeling that we're meeting

for the first time

yeah
drinking old cheap bottles of wine
sit talking up all night
saying things we haven't for a while
we're smiling but we're close to tears
even after all these years
we just now got the feeling that we're meeting

for the first time

yeah for the first time
oh for the first time
yeah for the first time
we just now got the feeling that we're meeting
for the first time

oh these times are hard
yeah they're making us crazy
don't give up on me baby

oh these times are hard
yeah they're making us crazy
don't give up on me baby

oh these times are hard,
yeah they're making us crazy
don't give up on me baby

oh these times are hard,
yeah they're making us crazy
don't give up on me baby.

IT'S OUT! THE EXCERPT!

T'was okay I guess. I think it's gonna be quite an original story (I hope) unlike her last book where I spotted many similarities with her previous novels, but oh well. It was still a nice read.

Dead beat, and tired like shit, so that's probably why I didn't really react much when I saw that post. Hmm. Or maybe it was the narrow margins of her post on livejournal that put me off slightly.

I think it's both. Oh well, I think this book's gonna turn out awesome, I see potential :)

Behold, the link to the excerpt for Sarah Dessen's upcoming summer novel, What Happened to Goodbye (release date 10 May in the states) posted on her livejournal:

It was a productive day I guess. Chemistry tuition and half of my homework done.

Now, add maths.

vents and rants don't make a difference

It's the stones and pebbles that pricks our feet along the road that makes us grow up.

But suddenly, I don't want to grow up anymore.

Just because I landed myself in the pits and didn't live up to your expectations doesn't mean I can't handle things, and it definitely doesn't mean I have to shy away and leave every reponsibility handed to me to someone else and run away, and live in my own world where I don't communicate and just do my thing.

How ironic.

I'm always doing it, I live in my own world sometimes, despite the fact that I'm aware of everything going on around me and I just choose to ignore them. But it's only sometimes. And it's my right to not divulge information I choose not to, just like how you keep your own secrets. Like you, I keep my own secrets too, and I am far too selfish to let you in. So go away.

I can handle it. I must handle it. Because despite how much I despise going through these stupid fucking times, I have to, because I am expected to and I wish to prove that I can do better than what people expect of me.

Because sometimes, miracles are born from the spirit of believing.

And I wish that miracle would just happen.

I don't deny I am human, because sometimes I am forced to face my insecurities too. Like now. But life's too goddamned ironic and contradictory for me to figure out, so who am I to say? I cannot put my current feelings now down on paper with words, because they have abandoned me becasue I am not good and smart enough to think of the precise words to use and am too stupid to do anything.

If you think what happened at the start of school didn't affect me, you're so fucking wrong. But you don't need to know how I felt, because one day I'm gonna leave this shithole and do my own thing, because I don't need anymore suppression shit coming from you and I'm sick of it.

Because you don't ever fucking listen.

I'm scared. But I can't cry. Or they'll know something's wrong and the whole fiasco will start over again.

-

Life moves on. So there's no point dwelling on the past. I hope our friendship still lasts.

I think I know my new year resolutions now. Didn't plan on having one this year because I thought it'd be pointless since I won't follow them anyway, but after being slapped back to reality, I've decided that I will have one, and I will follow them as closely as possible.

It's just a short one this time, because long ones are just impossible. I will study, study, study and freaking hell study to the pits of death and disallow myself to get less that 10 freaking A's in SPM next year. The most 1 B. And trials, well, no C's, and at least 6 A's and above. It's a high target I'm setting for myself, but I think if I cut down my entertainment time and increase my study periods, I think I can do it.

What the hell am I talking about? I MUST DO IT.

I will try my best, because I did not in the last time, as proven by today (even though I thought I did, but my results say otherwise).

:'(

Can I say that seventeen is a year of surprises?

Oh well, we'll just have to see at the end of this year.

School is starting tomorrow. Dreadful.

I don't wanna.

*4.35 p.m edit*

GA stuff.

She can see him but he can't see her? Gosh, this breaks my heart.
